Get creative! This year we are thinking about our homes.  Homes pop up a lot in stories

 

PRE-SCHOOL – up to 6 years:

 

K1: Make a house for one of the 3 Little Pigs – of straw OR sticks OR bricks (maximum size 30cm x 30 cm)

K2: Turn a mini chocolate swiss roll into a little pig, use any decoration you wish

K3: A jam jar of colourful flowers to decorate your house

K4:  Draw or paint a picture of a house you would like to live in (on A4 paper)

K5: Handwriting -copy the text below onto a sheet of A4 in your best handwriting:

The wolf huffed and he puffed and he blew the stick house down

The wolf huffed and he puffed and he huffed and he puffed but he could not blow down the house of bricks!

 

AGES 7 – 12

 

K6: Using materials from the recycling make a 3D house (max size 30cm x 30cm)

K7: Make a 2D gingerbread house decorated with sweets

K8: Copy the paragraph below in your best handwriting, describing The Weasley’s house from Harry Potter:

 

It looked as though it had once been a large stone pigpen, but extra rooms had been added here and there until it was several stories high and so crooked it looked as though it were held up by magic (which, Harry reminded himself, it probably was). Four or five chimneys were perched on top of the red roof. A lopsided sign stuck in the ground near the entrance read, THE BURROW. Around the front door lay a jumble of rubber boots and a very rusty cauldron. Several fat brown chickens were pecking their way around the yard.
